Retroviral Named African Consultancy of the Year at 2025 SABRE Awards Africa
We’re proud to share that Retroviral has been named African Consultancy of the Year at the 2025 SABRE Awards Africa. Alongside this honour, we took home six awards across various categories and were named a finalist for Best in Show—a nod to the quality and impact of the work we’ve created over the past year.
These accolades are deeply meaningful, not just for what they represent externally, but for what they affirm internally. As Chief Creative Officer Mike Sharman puts it: “We’ve never set out to be the biggest. Our goal has always been to be the best. Recognition like this tells us we’re on the right path.”
Every piece we submitted, from brand stunts to purpose-driven campaigns, was built by a team that pours their heart, time, and talent into every idea. This year’s wins span diverse sectors and include:
Cause-Related Marketing and Media Relations: Change Starts with One for BIC with Shaun James Film, and Integer Hotspot
Digital Campaign and Social Media Campaign: Premier League Launch for Showmax.com with T+W and Grid Worldwide
Marketing to Consumers (Existing Product): Beatbox Baristas for Wimpy with Shaun James Film and Actorvate Influencer Marketing
Food & Beverage: Lite Side Of The Court for Castle Lite with Capacity Relations, Ogilvy, Dentsu and draftline
Retroviral has also been named a finalist for the Platinum SABRE Award for Best in Show for Change Starts with One for BIC.
“Awards matter of course, but they’re not the goal. They’re a moment to reflect. To appreciate the late nights, the debates, and the countless edits before launch. We’re grateful to our clients who back us, challenge us, and let us challenge them right back” says Pippa Misplon, MD of Retroviral. “We also want to acknowledge the other incredible agencies and campaigns celebrated at the Africa Sabre Awards this year. To be in your company is as humbling as it is inspiring.”
