South Africa is facing a growing healthcare capacity crisis, with roughly one doctor for every 3,000 patients, a gap that continues to widen as skilled professionals emigrate. At the same time, nearly 1,800 qualified medical graduates remain unemployed because the state cannot place them in hospitals and facilities that need support.
Profmed responded by launching finDR.doctor, a mobile web app designed to connect unemployed, qualified young doctors with healthcare facilities that need medical professionals. By bridging this gap, Profmed reinforced its long-standing mission to support the medical profession while helping improve access to healthcare across South Africa.
