Introducing the inaugural Retroviral 2023 graduate programme participants

Feb 12, 2023

Retroviral is thrilled to introduce our inaugural programme graduates Justine Garret (Multimedia designer), Beanwell Nkhata (Animator) and Kego Senne (Copywriter).

“In order to remain relevant – locally and internationally – it’s imperative that we continue to uncover undiscovered talent”, says Mike Sharman, Retroviral CCO.

“We’re obsessed with building opportunities for South Africa’s growth at a youth employment level and we’re excited about where our Grad Program can take us as a company and a country” he adds.

The Retroviral graduates will be exposed to all facets of the agency, from client service to create, and copy to design. “During their period with us, we hope to give our graduates a meaningful, in-depth experience and equip them with some great experiences, skills and insight preparing them for the world of work. Ideally, one or all of them will become successful in transferring to our agency full time” says Managing Director, Pippa Misplon.

Design graduate Justine Garret on why she applied to join the team, “I was drawn to the agency’s commitment to innovation and its reputation for being a leader in the industry, From the outside, it’s easy to tell the values and loyalty that this agency has and how Retro brings it across in everything they put out. Retroviral has a supportive and inclusive work culture, which I knew would be crucial for both personal and professional growth” says Justine.

Animator Beanwell Nkhata adds “for me the opportunity to join the coolest, wackiest most wholesome agency, Retroviral Grad program, is honestly a blessing. I am so grateful for this opportunity, to not only further grow my knowledge, but also to spend time with people I respect and look up to, tackling new and exciting projects together, learning as much as I can.
